Ukrainian Armenian alpinist conquered the peak at Pamirs and named it in honor of Charles Aznavour.

An alpinist from Ukraine, Sergey Kayfajian has conquered a 5,250-meter peak at Pamirs where no one had ever stepped before, and named it in honor of Charles Aznavour, famous Armenian-born France’s singer, Erkramas paper reported.

“Sergey Kayfajian, who conquered the peak on August 25, in line with the right of pioneer named the peak in honor of Charles Aznavour, and installed at the very peak a sign with portrait of the famous French singer of Armenian origin,” said in the report.
